For nonprofits

Add video to your printed appeal, with no app and no QR code

Donors point their phone at a photo on your appeal, annual report or thank-you card and hear from the people you serve. Buttons to give or volunteer follow every story, and a dashboard shows who watched, tapped and gave.

How it works for donors

Type the address

A short address printed on the piece, like yourorg.org/story, opens your story page in the phone’s browser.

Point at a photo

Every photo on the piece can play its own story. No app, and no QR code on the photos.

The story plays

Your executive director, someone you serve, a volunteer: each photo can carry a different voice.

Then one tap to act

Donate, volunteer, sign up or share, right when the donor is most moved.

Where it works

Giving Tuesday and year-end appeals · annual reports · gala programs and table cards · donor thank-you cards · event signage. One good video can serve all of them, and your emails and social posts too.

Compared with a QR code to a video

The usual way to put video in print is a QR code that links to YouTube or your website. Here’s what’s different.

Done for you

You bring the stories; we do the rest: the design of the piece, the phone experience, the buttons and the dashboard. The founding partner pilot this season starts at $2,500 for the Year-End Kit (regularly $4,500), with up to three stories, your own story page and web address, and a one-page report for your board in January. Questions

How can we add video to a printed fundraising appeal?

With Popcode, each photo on your appeal, annual report or thank-you card plays its own video. Donors go to a short web address printed on the piece and point their phone at a photo. We design the piece and set everything up; you film the stories on a phone.

Do donors need an app?

No. Popcode works in the phone’s web browser, so there’s nothing to download, no account to create and no password to remember.

Will older donors manage it?

The piece carries short, clear instructions: type the address, then point the phone at the photo. If a donor can open a website on their phone, they can watch your story.

We don’t have video.

That’s common. We send a simple script and ideas for what to film. A heartfelt video shot on a phone often works better than a polished production.

Do you collect donor data?

No. Popcode doesn’t collect names, emails or any personal information from donors. Views, how much of each story was watched and button taps are counted anonymously; gift totals come from your own donation platform.

How long does it keep working?

Pieces keep playing through at least the end of 2027, so donors who keep your appeal or annual report can come back to it.

What does it cost?

Founding partner pilot pricing this season: the Year-End Kit is $2,500 (regularly $4,500) and the Gala & Donor Kit is $4,500 (regularly $6,500). You handle printing and postage.

How fast can you deliver?

About four weeks from receiving your video. Working toward Giving Tuesday? Tell us early and we’ll plan back from your mail date.

Print gets them to open it. A voice gets them to give.
